It’s a tangram with a day job.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eUse me to measure something, or just leave me be, all pretty little bits.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch4\u003eCreator’s Notes\u003c\/h4\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWe took a few ordinary desk tools, a ruler, a protractor and a pencil holder, and tried to compose them within a square.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eEach piece is cut by waterjet, then assembled and fitted by hand, with the markings inlaid in pigment rather than printed on. Stone, brass and glass each expand, resist and finish differently. Getting them to fit together with no gaps and no wobble was a true test of precision and craft.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe pieces are miniature in form but deliberately heavy. \u003cem\u003eKota\u003c\/em\u003e stone and \u003cem\u003eJaisalmer\u003c\/em\u003e sandstone are architectural materials, usually laid as floors and walls.
